When the world’s lone superpower falls, the effects ripple all over the globe. On today’s show we’ll talk about:
• How Germany is considering sacrificing its relationship with America in order to shore up ties with Russia—
• How American misbehavior has the Japanese trying to kick the U.S. out of their country—
• How China is tightening its grip on the South China Sea at America’s expense—
• How Libya is becoming an increasing area of concern since America led the campaign to get rid of Muammar Gadhafi—
• How, after all of America’s expenditure in Iraq, the main beneficiary is Iran.
• We’ll also discuss how U.S. politics are being increasingly marked by anger and violence—and an important point that those who recognize America’s problems are missing.
• We also have a jam-packed lightning round at the end.

State Department Admits to Lying and the Shocking Truth About Iran’s Treatment of U.S. Sailors

The United States State Department admitted this week that it intentionally deleted an eight-minute exchange in an archived video. The video was from a December 2013 press conference where then-State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki essentially admitted that the Obama administration lied about having secret talks with Iran in 2011. With the Iran nuclear deal signed, news about how the administration manufactured stories to push the deal forward continues to be unveiled.
In addition to manipulating the media on the Iran deal, the administration has also skewed facts about how U.S. sailors were treated when they were taken hostage by Iran earlier this year. Legislation was introduced last week that will compel the Obama administration to admit whether or not it had to pay Iran for the release of the hostages. At the time, top U.S. officials, including John Kerry and Joe Biden, praised Iranian authorities for the way they “helped” the U.S. sailors.
Why does the government need to lie in order to forge ahead with so-called “progress”? Find out on today’s Trumpet Daily Radio Show.

Proverbs from Around the World

An ancient German proverb says, "A country can be judged by the quality of its proverbs." This episode puts that to the test. Host Jeremiah Jacques speaks with proverb-loving guests from three different nations in order to get a glimpse into the ancient wisdom of their countries of origin. Some of them may seem strange, but, as the old Welsh proverb states: "The common sayings of the multitude are too true to be laughed at."

A Proverb for Doubters: That Which God Has Spoken Shall Be Done

https://soundcloud.com/trumpetdaily/a-proverb-for-doubters-that-which-god-has-spoken-shall-be-done

Many today, even in the professing Christian world, scoff at the idea of God’s supernatural intervention in world affairs. Bible scholars have come to view the Bible as literature that might have some historical value but not as the infallible Word of God. Another reason traditional Christians reject the prophecies of the Bible is because of the many false predictions men have made throughout history. Because of these failures, many people, over time, have developed a skeptical, cynical attitude toward Bible prophecy. On today’s program, we’ll cover how this spirit of scoffing actually fulfills several Bible prophecies for the latter days.

• America’s presidential campaign is getting ugly, even violent. The press has accused Republican candidate Donald Trump of stirring up anger—but his opponents have also showed some serious anger in protesting his campaign—as have supporters of Democrat Bernie Sanders. We’ll talk about why this is concerning.
• Is Europe about to get a European army? A top-secret security paper is being worked on behind closed doors by leaders creating a new security strategy for Europe, including combining the militaries of European states to face threats as one unified power.
• How does the Philadelphia Trumpet newsmagazine come together? We’ll talk with designer Steve Hercus about how he creates the magazine’s engaging and beautiful layouts.
• And I’ll conclude today’s show by talking about the extraordinarily find-tuned nature of planet Earth.

Iran Chooses Hard-liner to Lead Assembly; America Lashes Out at Israel for Hard-line Government

https://soundcloud.com/trumpetdaily/iran-chooses-hard-liner-to-lead-assembly

Iran’s government last week elected Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati to lead the Assembly of Experts, the body responsible for picking the nation’s next supreme leader. Jannati is a hard-liner who has encouraged suicide bombings and, in 2014, stated that Iran’s number one slogan was “Death to America.” When asked about the election of Jannati, United States State Department spokesman Mark Toner shared a laugh with reporters and had no comment on the issue. The next day, when Toner was asked about the new coalition in Israel between Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Avigdor Lieberman, he wasted little time in noting that it was “the most right-wing coalition in Israel’s history.” Why is the U.S. silent on the election of Jannati and upset about Israel’s new coalition? Find out on today’s Trumpet Daily Radio Show.

The Return of Avigdor Lieberman

The prospect of a hawkish bloc winning Israel’s parliamentary elections is significant because Bible prophecy says that, in the very near future, half of Jerusalem will fall violently (Zechariah 14:2). Much of the world says adamantly that the Jews should peacefully surrender East Jerusalem to the Palestinians, including many prominent voices in the U.S., the United Nations, Europe, the Palestinian Authority and even in the Jewish communities.

But the implication of Bible prophecy is that Israel will not surrender the city peacefully. The hawkish coalition now forming is a force that would be unlikely to give East Jerusalem away without a fight. Instead, it will be likely to promote the continued building of Jewish settlements in that part of the city, infuriating Palestinians in the process. This resulting fury would exacerbate the already tense situation, and thereby hasten the fulfillment of this violent wresting of East Jerusalem from Jewish control.
The article concluded with an inspiring statement Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry wrote back in 2006: “When half of Jerusalem falls, it starts a chain reaction of events—AN AVALANCHE OF CRISES—that leads directly to Christ’s Second Coming!”
