The Untold Story of D-Day - The Trumpet Daily

D-Day marked an incredible achievement for Britain and America, but there is an untold story behind this momentous event.

June 6, 1944, marked the largest amphibious military invasion the world had ever seen. The Allied invasion of Normandy in Operation Overlord saw some 6,000 seafaring vessels carry 176,000 soldiers over, ready to liberate France and Western Europe from the malevolent Nazi regime. D-Day marked the beginning of the end of Adolf Hitler’s stranglehold on the Continent. Eleven months after the Allies stormed the beaches of Normandy, the Third Reich surrendered. In many ways, D-Day represents the climatic achievement of the English-speaking peoples.

Franklin D. Roosevelt publicly prayed before the nation on June 6 asking for God’s guidance and protection over the men who would bravely risk their lives to free Europe from Germany’s evil empire. Had it not been for the leadership of Winston Churchill and for a reverence for God’s direction, Britain and America, along with the rest of the Allies, would not have won the war. On this episode of the Trumpet Daily, we’re going to discuss a few of the things that many people have forgotten about the Normandy invasion of 1944.
