Why ‘Natural’ Disasters?

Catastrophic natural disasters are forcing their way into the headlines with troubling frequency. Are hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes, floods, droughts and wildfires actually increasing? If so, is it merely coincidence—or is there a cause? Both religion and science struggle to provide an answer. But there is an answer—and it gives profound and even inspiring meaning to these seemingly random disasters. God takes no pleasure in seeing people die in these events, nor does He take pleasure in the destruction. What God wants is for us to turn to Him in obedience with our whole hearts so that we don’t have to suffer the consequences of wrong actions. There is an incredibly inspiring meaning behind the weather—even the catastrophic events. On this program, we will examine how God actually uses the weather as a tool to communicate to mankind.
