• Some voices are calling America’s election of Donald Trump a possible turning point in world affairs.
• Protests have erupted throughout America as minorities decry what they perceive as widespread racism and bigotry—young people in colleges and high schools are marching to express their disenfranchisement from their own country.
• Other nations are trying to come to terms with the result. Europeans are facing the prospect of America pulling back even more from honoring its security commitments there. Some say this is the moment for Europe to unify militarily, and to strengthen its relations with Asia.
